Candy Wrappers In Candy Land
What
you dreamed of is what we imagined in this fantasy story about two Sweet-tarts
in Candy Land. A Jelly-belly boy
and a Lollipop girl travel together down Candy Cane Lane and over Rock Candy
Mountain to a magical land of enchantment.
As
they begin their journey, the sun with all its’ yellow and orange colors
shines brightly over the butterscotch flowers that cover the hillside.
Candy Cane Lane is lined with red and white sticks that would satisfy any
sweet tooth.
In
the distance Rock Candy Mountain awaits them as they make their way slowly
towards it. It will be nightfall
before they reach the mountain so they decided to make themselves comfortable
under the candy apple tree. They
looked up into the sky at the candy-coated stars and fell fast asleep.
Morning
came with a Kerr-plunk as mini green apples fell off the tall tree and onto
their heads to quickly awaken them. Pixie
stick fairies fluttered around the candy-corn fields as if to welcome the two
Sweet-tarts. The air was starting
to feel cold and crisp as they made their way closer and closer to the mountain.
Jelly-belly boy reached over to button Lollipop girls’ candy buttons on
her jacket to keep her warm. She in
turn kneeled down to tie his red licorice shoelaces and they continued hand in
hand on their journey.
Near
the base of the mountain gushy gummy bears were eating jujubes off the bushes as
they quietly passed by them totally unnoticed.
Chickens were scattering around them now and they pulled out chico-sticks
from their backpacks to feed them. A little tart-n-tiny field mouse waited patiently for his
favorite snack, a mini m&m he quickly stashed in his pouch and carried off.
Up
ahead they came across a zagnut swing held tightly together between two trees by
watermelon licorice twisted ropes. They
swung together for hours smiling, talking and totally losing track of time.
When they looked up at their red-hot watches they jumped off the swing
and ran up the mountain. It was
already getting late and you really don’t want to end up stuck on Rock Candy
Mountain overnight. The air on the
mountain gets really cold and storms are possible at any time.
Pop!
Pop! Pop! Suddenly pink and purple
poppers shot across the sky. The
two Sweet-tarts quickly realized they were in for a very large storm.
There was no place for them to find shelter so they knew they had to
press on despite the bitter cold temperatures.
Just then the sky opened up and it began raining candy wrappers.
They were everywhere and Jelly-belly boy gathered some together to cover
Lollipop girl and himself as they headed across the mountain. The wrappers blew in the wind behind them but kept them
completely warm and dry.
They
picked German raspberries off the bushes for food, which filled them with
abundant energy as they reached the top of Rock Candy Mountain.
The view from the top was spectacular and they took in a big breath of
fresh air. A poor man tending his
rock garden slowly approached them. He
was the Sour grape man and offered them sour brite crawlers from his garden.
Kids’ with sour patch faces stood behind him as he introduced them.
The
Sweet-tarts each reached into their pockets and pulled out chocolate gold
wrapped coins and handed them to the poor man.
He was thrilled with their random acts of kindness that he offered to
lead them down the mountain to Lollipop Land.
Below them the Candy Parade had begun and Tart-n-tiny clowns lined
Jawbreaker Avenue. They tossed zots
into the air for the local kids and lollipops were handed out in abundance.
Jelly-belly
boy and Lollipop girl headed up the road with the Sour Grape man and came across
the most beautiful gingerbread house ever imagined. It was made up of all different kinds of candy.
They suddenly realized as they smiled to each other that this would be
their new home. The Sour Grape man
was very happy for the two Sweet-tarts and said good-bye as he took his Sour
patch kids and headed back up the mountain.
The
two Sweet-tarts glanced at each other and ran quickly after them.
They yelled, “Home is where the heart is!”
“This just wouldn’t be home unless you and your children are here
with us too!” Because of a
Jelly-belly boy and a Lollipop girl, random acts of kindness flowed through
Candy Land that day and forever more. They
were honored as the sweetest Sweet-tarts in Candy Land and the sour patch family
lived happily ever after in the most beautiful gingerbread house ever imagined!
