Summer in Paradise
As we embarked on our secret get-away, we felt an incredible sense of
calmness. The sun with its'
magnificent golden glow came shimmering up over the horizon with all it's vital
energy and the view was spectacular from our boat.
The water surrounded us with crystal blue colors and areas of long kelp
floated quietly on the top. As we
became acquainted with our surroundings, we started to feel the sizzling of the
hot sun on our faces and the nostalgic view that left us speechless.
Nearby in the lagoon, a cascading waterfall caught our attention, as it
seemed to come out of nowhere and flowed ever so softly downward with cool
sprays of water misting over to us.
The white sandy beaches seemed endless as they glowed like millions of
diamonds in the sun. Embedded in the sand were tiny footprints made by local
animals that shared the area. The
reflection in the water of our boat made it look like we were one with the view.
A spectacular painting of colors surrounded us as schools of colorful
fish swam underneath our boat. Dolphins
danced all around us like ballerinas' auditioning for a show.
Their shiny smooth bodies moving ever so precise as they dove deep in and
out of the water. The seagulls
above us decided to get a closer look to see if we had any fish on board for
them. We threw out a handful of
tiny pieces that we were able to find. Our
hands smelled like fish as we rinsed them off in the cool blue water.
The water made a rippling effect as drops fell from our cold, wet hands.
It was so refreshing that we decided this beautiful area was going to be
the highlight of our trip.
As we moved closer to the shoreline we were able to detect a bed of sand
dollars flowing back and forth with the current.
The reflection of a bright orange starfish came into view the closer we
got to the shore. I reached in the
water and picked it up ever so carefully. It
was rather heavy and somewhat spiny to the touch so I lowered it gently back
into the water. The warm white sand
crystals on the beach looked so inviting that I couldn't wait to feel its'
powder warmth between my toes.
Off in the distance you could hear the seagulls fighting over a piece of
fish. The crashing of the waves
against the shore had an almost hypnotizing effect.
All this fresh air and calmness finally put me to sleep on the warm sand.
When I awoke, I stared in amazement at the romantic sun setting slowly
over the horizon. I watched it
disappear as the quiet night fell upon us.
It was time to head back home and cherish these beautiful moments in our
memories forever!
