Cody Watts, 11yrs old
Puyallup, WA
Hi, my name is Cody Watts and on December 2,
2001 I turned 11 years old. I’ll tell you about myself. I LOVE SCHOOL.
I am in fifth grade and I get pretty good grades. I really like my teacher
(Mrs. Johnson-Pope Elementary in Puyallup) she teaches in a way that when you
don’t think you can do an assignment she will show us it several times in
different ways until you actually understand it. My favorite subjects are
Social Studies and Math. This year for the first time I made honor roll by
getting and keeping a 3.5 grade point average.
Some of my hobbies are duck hunting, bass fishing, camping, swimming, riding my
bike and collecting baseball cards. My favorite is duck hunting with my dad
because he teaches me responsibility, patience and respecting the outdoors. Our
“family” motto is: WE DON’T LITTER!!!!!!!
When I grow up I want to be a pilot in the United States Air Force; I have
wanted to be an Air Force pilot since I was 4 years old. The first time I
watched the “Blue Angels” fly I fell in love with jets. Last summer I had the
chance to go with my best friend Christopher and his family to McChords’ Air
Force Base for the air-show and by “special invite only” party. (Christopher’s
father is a Master Sergeant in the Air Force.) The party was a blast, I met
several of the pilots that are stationed and fly out of McChord. I hope that
the pilots and all military people) that are serving in the war in Afghanistan
will be able to come home to their families to spend the holidays as I know how
lucky I feel to be with my family during this time but I also know how proud I
feel to watch as our military forces are fighting to keep our freedom as
Americans. I have enjoyed telling you about myself and look forward to
hearing from you in the near future.

Jared Morris, 10yrs old
Tacoma, WA
(While on his trip to Southern California in
July of 2001)
I went on a trip to California.
It was really fun.
I saw a lot of family members
and stayed out in the sun.
When I went to Lego Land
I was kind of bored.
But when I went to Six Flags
who would want a Ford.

Milagros “Milly” Aviles, 10yrs
old
Connecticut
Hi my name is Milly. I am a 10 year old in 4th
grade and
I would like to share a poem I did for school against drugs. Here I go…
Drug Rap
Being drug free is the way to be.
It is not the kind of life for you and me.
Drugs will tear you apart from your family and friends.
It can ruin everything and bring your life to an end.
Don’t let your friends tell you what kind of drugs to use.
Because true friends won’t offer and that is true.
So God Bless us all and for drugs don’t start.
Because not doing drugs is really being smart.
