Racin' Fool
(Country Song)
Cruisin'
down the Highway,
Shiftin' into gear.
In my 350 Chevy,
Dual exhaust in the rear.
350 Horses not one coming in last.
At top speeds of 200,
My hearts pumping fast.
Hop on in darlin',
Kick off your shoes.
Our hearts burnin' and racin',
Doin' whatever we choose.
I saw that look in your eyes,
As I stepped on the gas.
You cried "Honey, Sweet Darlin',
Please not so fast!"
Precious Cargo aboard,
As I heard the brakes squeal.
We swerved over the curb,
I lost control of the wheel.
We came out with our lives,
But my Chevy was lost.
I learned a lesson that day,
Avoid racing at all cost!
Things could have been worse,
Many lives might be taken.
And my precious Cargo,
Might not ever awaken.
I could have been sittin',
On the curb by her side,
With her momma and daddy,
As they knelt down and cried.
"What have you done?"
They would say to me.
Her life is over,
We loved her dearly.
And as I left,
Tears filled my eyes.
The picture I painted,
The memories and cries.
Every time you step on the gas,
To show off for some gal.
Remember this old fool,
And remember me well!
