Adopt A Cop

To our local Hero's from Sonny Tricoli!

"Adopt A Cop" The headlines read,
as paper-boy Sonny jumped out of his bed.
The sound of the sirens spun him around,
as the roar of Police cars rumbled through town.
Sonny jumped on his bike to deliver that day,
when he heard on the radio what the Police had to say.
"A goose and her babies on the middle divide!"
Pressed up on the wall her babies to hide.
Nowhere to go and no help in sight,
except one Policeman who noticed her plight.
He ordered the traffic to slowly abide,
as he led the mother and babies off to the side.
The crowd cheered him on as he smiled at them,
never losing sight of the babies and hen.
The officer was chosen a hero no less,
and paper-boy Sonny was there with the press.
"Adopt A Cop" The headlines read,
Let's not forget what this special Cop did.
(Find a way to brighten a Cop's day,
even a smile goes a long way.)
